Playa Resorts knows how to put on a show for corporate events and meetings. How do we at The Journey know? We’ve been to one! Last November, we enjoyed three days at Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos with more than 100 of our corporate friends, and from the welcome drink to the main conference to the gala dinner by the pool, we were charmed by Hyatt’s Service from the Heart and its award-winning amenities.
Getting the details perfect
Destination conferences are enjoyable experiences, but at Playa Hotels and Resorts, they’re memorable, too! It’s the details that create such a wonderful event. The gala dinners offered a variety of flavors; from traditional Mexican to Asian fusion, hot and cold dishes, every palate and dietary need is met. But food isn’t just restricted to meals. During conferences, Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos sets up coffee for the entire meeting as well as light delights for those who need a munchie during discussion and brainstorming.

Though food is important at an all-inclusive getaway—try the Spanish tapas in Los Cabos or the microbrew in Cancun—Playa Hotels and Resorts also have fantastic locales. From the warm waters of the Caribbean to the cool waters of the Sea of Cortes, these resorts offer what no boardroom can—a spectacular beachfront view, which is paramount during destination conferences. There’s a certain soothing nature that comes from watching the waves roll into the shore, so grab your spreadsheets and a snack (it’s all-inclusive!), and get ready for the best strategy session of the year.
Perhaps the best part of our business getaway was the serene atmosphere. While our group of 125 travel professionals was at Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos, so were more than 300 Mazda employees. The only way we were aware of this was the occasional Mazda sign and the show cars parked by the opening of the theater. We even learned from the general manager that the Mazda group held an all-night party. (We never heard it!)

A key factor of a business conference is to build your professional relationships, and the best way to do that is through engaging activities. On top of parties and meetings, how about a round of golf? Extended through 2016, Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall and Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall offer one free round at Cinnamon Hill Golf Course or White Witch Golf Course. Though there is a three-night minimum stay required, the cart fee is now part of the complimentary golf offer.
In Cancun, groups can enjoy a Delphinus Experiences—swimming with the dolphins in the Caribbean Sea. Other favorite excursions in the area include zip-lining and sailing, but if you want to stay in, arrange a tequila tasting or a salsa night.
In Puerto Vallarta, take to the sports complex for friendly (or heated) matches with tennis and volleyball courts (accounting vs. marketing—best of three series!), or to the waters of Banderas Bay with Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta’s private beach-cove.
How about Cirque-du-Soleil-style shows? Then Los Cabos is the resort for your gathering with a Grand Theater (it is quite grand). You can also challenge the executives to a basketball game with rooftop half-courts or head to one of the pools for water basketball. How about beach volleyball? Go for it!
Of course, you might want a break from all the discussions. Make sure to schedule a treatment at one of Hyatt Ziva and Zilara’s world-class spas. With serene indoor treatment rooms, palapa-style massage areas, plunge pools and hot tub, plus hydrotherapy areas, you’ll leave these tranquil oases ready for another round of negotiating or presenting.
And the part you’ve been waiting for—the deal! Right now, the sixth room is free at Playa Hotels and Resorts, so start planning your corporate getaway while the days and deals are hot!
