Weddings by Riu celebrates three different types of ceremonies: civil, religious, or renewal of vows. Your destination determines what type of wedding you will celebrate. For example, the civil ceremonies are legally recognized. These weddings are performed by a judge in Mexico, Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Panama and Aruba. In Jamaica and Bahamas, weddings are performed by a non-denominational minister, but St. Martin only celebrates symbolic ceremonies. On the other hand, the religious ceremonies are symbolic weddings in Mexico, Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Panama, Aruba and St. Martin. In Jamaica and Bahamas, they are legally recognized. Finally, “Vows Renewal” are symbolic weddings for couples that have been married several years, so these are performed non-denominational ceremonies.
