Traveling Solo at an All-Inclusive

If you haven’t been to an all-inclusive resort, you are missing out on the meaning of vacation. As the host of GOGO Vacations web series, Paradise Found, I have had the opportunity to experience several all-inclusive resorts throughout the Caribbean and Mexico. While each has its own individual touch, the best part is there are SO MANY to choose from that surely one will satisfy what you want as a family, couple, or even solo traveler.

Working and having an all-inclusive office for 5 days is a dream come true, but since being introduced to this luxury I’ve become the biggest fan. I now highly recommend this type of vacation and when I need an escape, the all-inclusive lifestyle is what I want.

Sometimes when I am traveling solo, I always think people look at me and feel bad. Does she need something? Why would she come to paradise by herself? If they only knew that there is nothing better than listening to the waves crash on a white sandy beach with a cocktail in hand, and not having to talk to anyone. The part of the experience that took the most getting used to was ordering as MUCH as I want to eat WHENEVER I want 24/7. Did I mention they have room service too? Then when the eating gets out of hand, don’t worry because I am the active solo traveler who decides to sign up for every single activity they offer. Typically my day consists of yoga, pool volleyball, beach volleyball, salsa lessons, lunch, wine tasting, then a swim before heading to dinner and maybe hitting up the nightclub.

In the video above you will see my journey at Finest Playa Mujeres in beautiful Mexico. I enjoyed this resort because it had some great dining options, a WONDERFUL spa (this is not included), non-motorized water sports AND a sweet shop…yup, a place where you could get coffee, ice cream or a cupcake whenever your heart desires. The layout was the perfect size to walk without getting lost. I also got superior service being part of the Excellence Club which allowed me to use an exclusive bar for Club members, have a private check-in and a concierge was available at all times.

Don’t get me wrong, I like to navigate the trains in Switzerland, subway in London, buses in South America, but there’s nothing like decompressing and not having to leave the property once you arrive. However, that option still is available if you want to explore the surroundings. I like the option of dining at a different restaurant each night on property and if I’m feeling lazy…I’ll just order that room service again!
