One of the main attractions of Atlantis is the Dolphin Cay with its myriad of different experiences, as you saw above with Ashley. And while it is a tourist destination with stingray encounters, dolphin interactions, snorkeling by the ruins, and more, it’s also an animal rescue and rehabilitation center. The 14-acres, 7 million gallons of seawater was started when16 rescue dolphins were swept away from their Mississippi home during Hurricane Katrina. Now, Atlantis houses more than 40 dolphins, and those that want to stay, do. Others are strengthened before being acclimated back into the wild.

Watch Ashley interact with Nya, a very playful dolphin below.

All guests staying at Atlantis, Paradise Island receive complimentary access to the following areas:

– Aquaventure – one of the world’s largest and most spectacular waterparks

– The Dig – the world’s largest open-air marine habitat, second only to Mother Nature

– Water Play – 21 crystal-clear swimming pools

– Pristine Beaches – miles of white sands surround crystal Caribbean waters

– Atlantis Casino -the Caribbean’s grandest casino

But Melissa’s favorite part of Atlantis was the Marina Village.

“The Marina Village is one of the best spots on the island,” Gusman raves. “It’s a shopping and dining area with places like Ben and Jerry’s, Starbucks, and name-brands shops, but it also has snack bars and entertainment venues.”

The village also has American favorites, like Carmine’s, a classic Italian bistro, from New York City; Ben & Jerry’s; Johnny Rockets; and Virgil’s Real BBQ.

The Marina Village lives up to its name as it is located right next to the island’s marina, and while filming, Ashley and Melissa heard of a specific dark gray yacht that was docked at Paradise Island.

“Most yachts are white,” Gusman explains, “so I was very shocked when I saw the dark gray one at the marina. Later, we were told Sir Richard Branson owns one, and he frequently visits the Caribbean.”

Melissa and Ashley stayed at the Reef, luxury residential-style studios and one-bedroom suites featuring a kitchen or kitchenette and views of the turquoise waters.

“The rooms were very comfortable and had great views,” Gusman raves.

Notes Gusman, “It was a great room. It was set up like a studio with a great living area and a kitchen area with a mini-fridge, mini-bar, dishwasher, and sink. The bathroom was also huge with a gigantic tub!”
