Paradisus Means Paradise (Found)

Paradisus means “paradise” in Mexico, and at Paradisus Resorts in Cancun and Riviera Maya, you’ll find exceptional service, pristine beaches, and scrumptious dining options. Experience the resorts first hand with Emmy-Winning Travel Host Ashley Colburn as she travels to the beautiful sands of the Yucatan Peninsula in this installment of Paradise Found.

Paradisus Cancun

Paradisus Cancun by Sol MeliáParadisus Resorts are family-friendly retreats found in some of the most breathtaking locales in the world.

Explains Ashley, “The beauty of Cancun has made [Paradisus] an international destination for families and couples, providing with natural beauty with superior service.”

But Paradisus Cancun goes one step further with its Family Concierge and Royal Service.

“Family concierge rooms have a great location,” emphasizes Israel Ortiz of Paradisus Cancun, “and the amenities we place are exceptional.”

A few of the amenities include mini-slippers, mini-bath robes, and bath essential for kids by Johnson & Johnson, but the turndown service is what truly sets this section apart with treats made specifically for children and their tastes. (What treats? Watch the video to find out.)

Paradisus CancunFor couples traveling without children, the Royal Service offers another level of luxury.

Notes Israel, “We have a separate pyramid for an entire complex, and we call it the resort-within-the-resort.”

This service includes a butler concierge and pool concierge.

“It’s a great option for couples and honeymooners, and all those clients looking for a place to celebrate,” says Israel.

But the resort’s five towers are well-connected with common areas for everyone to enjoy and award-winning restaurants, including Tempo by Seven Star Michelin Chef Martin Berasategui.

“The color of Cancun’s beach is everything you want from a vacation, and you might not want to ever leave,” Ashley adds.

Paradisus La Esmeralda and La Perla

Situated on the trendy Playa del Carmen and 45 minutes from Cancun are Paradisus La Esmeralda and Paradisus La Perla in a quiet scene away from the bustle of the Cancun strip.

Paradisus Playa del Carmen La EsmeraldaLa Esmeralda is the family side of the resort with activities for children day and night.

Says Annette Koelemeij, manager of La Esmeralda, “It is a hotel for all ages, and as a result, it’s very nice for families. We have special pools for the children. We have the kids club where we have daily activities, and we can organize babysitting service.”

Plus the resort also boasts the Family Concierge level of service, though it’s a little different from its Cancun counterpart. (How so? Check out the video!)

La Perla is the adults only section of the resort that caters to couples and honeymooners.

“Private dining and international flavors make every meal a romantic one,” says Ashley. “With 14 restaurants to choose from, you can dine somewhere new each night.”

“Passions is one of our pride and joys,” explains Franco Pedone, manager of La Perla. “It’s one of the 53 Five Diamond restaurants in North America.”

Paradisus Playa del Carmen La Perla Another highlight of the resort is its enriching experiences, which include margarita making, guacamole making, dancing lessons, and wine tastings.

Explains Pedone, “We ask for people to participate and do something. We teach you something, which is generally tied to the local culture, and these activities are things that you bring back with you long after the trip and always bring you a smile.”

But La Perla’s main focus is for every guest to have fun.

Recommends Ashley, “The ultimate pool party can’t be missed with a DJ, dancers, drinks, and something you’ve never seen before.”
