A Palace Paradise in Cancun

Travel Guru Ashley Colburn is seeking out paradise again, this time in Cancun’s hotel zone at Palace Resorts.

Says Colburn, “Say good-bye to the outside world, and say hello to the Palace Life at Palace Resorts.”

In this latest episode of GOGO Vacations’ webseries, Paradise Found, Colburn starts her journey at Moon Palace Spa & Golf Resort, the largest property in the Palace family.

“Don’t let its size intimidate you,” says Colburn. “Imagine all the fun we’re about to have.”

Get the moon, the stars, and 12 bars at Moon Palace.

Moon Palace Spa & Golf Resort is located just ten minutes away from Cancun International Airport, which is an exciting place to vacation, says Laura Borges, director of sales.

“It’s really whatever anything you want it to be because we are at the very end of Hotel Zone in Cancun or at the beginning of Riviera Maya where all the fun activities are happening.”

Moon_palaceThe resort boasts a Jack Nicklaus, 27-hole golf course, a beautiful beach, a FlowRider Double Wave simulator, and an on-site nightclub with access included in every guest’s stay. But what the young guests truly enjoy is the Playroom Kids Club with endless activities, like video games, fashion rooms, jungle gyms, and a dining area with kid-friendly foods.

An all-inclusive resort, Moon Palace offers a variety of delicious delights, like Asian, American, Italian, and Mexican cuisine in its 14 restaurants, and the food experience at Moon Palace is scrumptious, according to Chef Marco Cazares.

“In 2008, the company invested $75 million just to obtain our own distribution and service center,” says Cazares. “This world-class facility is an amazing place. Among its many functions—all the bread and all the ice cream we are serving in all our restaurants is produced in this facility.”

When the moon comes out, the entertainment heats up. The resort also boasts 12 bar, six in the pool area alone, and every night, the resort hosts a fire show, a traditional Mexican show, a Michael Jackson show, and even a show called Anything Can Happen. A very unique attribute of the resort is the Moon Palace Arena, which can welcome 8,000 people.

Says Borges, “We’re always looking for world-class entertainment to offer to our guests, and normally our concerts at the arena come with dining included. It’s a nice dining experience with a four-course meal.”

Under the Mayan moon

Moon Palace Cancun Riviera Maya Mexico

Moon Palace offers both the large-resort experience and the intimate-resort vacation, great for families, couples, and singles. With more than 2,400 rooms, the resort offers guests three sections—Sunrise, Grand, and Nizuc, each with their own check-in area.

“Nizuc is more romantic with 730 rooms,” says Borges. “It’s very intimate.”

But Moon Grand is the most luxurious section of the resort with 350 rooms set long a beautiful beach area. Plus, it hosts El Caribeno with a buffet breakfast and lunch, and an a la carte dinner.

The final section, Sunrise, is the largest with 1,200 rooms with Chi Bar amenities as well as a minibar with liquor dispenser in the rooms, making a great getaway for couples. This is also where the majority of the children amenities are located, making it the perfect place for families.

Beyond the moon’s glow

Moon Palace’s location is also less than three hours from the Mayan ruins, allowing guests to find a historical paradise with Olympus Tours. Check out Ashley’s excursion to Chichen Itza with a close look at the ruins and the nearby cenote.

Afterwards, Ashley stops by the bustling Hotel Zone of Cancun and Beach Palace, which is located steps from downtown and…you guessed it! The beach. Great for families and couples, the resort offers impeccable service and poolside activities, like a cocktail making course.

“From martinis to pina colada, soon you can be a bartender too,” says Colburn.

Ashley ended her trip to the exclusive, award-winning LeBlanc Spa Resort.

Le Blanc “Le Blanca Spa Resort is paradise onto itself,” says Elide Marin, sales director for Palace Resorts. “It’s very relaxing and adults-only orientated. The atmosphere itself is all about the service, all about the guests, so when people come here, they find their perfect retreat.”

The hotel features mostly king beds, double hot tubs in the room, in-mirror TVs in bathroom, mostly king beds, and Bvlgari bath amenities. Plus, couples need to taste Lumiere with a seven-course tasting menu and wine pairing.

Coupled with daily yoga class in the peaceful lagoon and a world-class spa, LeBlanc is a luxury-seeker’s getaway in Cancun.
