Do you crave unique experiences? Are you willing to explore the less traveled road? Are you ready to venture beyond the typical tourist attractions? For those travelers looking to explore activities and destinations that aren’t listed in the travel books, we’ve listed four of our favorite “off the beaten path” experiences that will give you a glimpse into true Thai culture and landscapes beyond the expected.

Krabi Emerald Pool

Emerald Pool Thailand

Emerald Pool is an unseen pool in a mangrove forest at Krabi.

Located in Khao Phra Bang Khram Nature Reserve in Krabi, this emerald blue natural pool, also known as Crystal Pool, can be found after a short hike to the center of the forest. The water comes from natural freshwater streams running from the hills above and is the perfect relaxing. Not to be confused with a hot spring, this pool is quite cool and refreshing for a swim on a warm day. Be sure to come earlier in the day to see the pool when it is most vibrant emerald in color due to water temperature.
