Couples Resorts rich history dates back all the way to 1949 when its founder Abe Issa opened Tower Isle Hotel. Tower Isle, located in Ocho Rios, was the first year-round resort located on Jamaica, sparking a trend that is still on fire today.

The brand took its next step in 1978, when they opened Couples Ocho Rios, a hotel that would eventually define the brand. This property redefined the all-inclusive concept for couples traveling to the island, the resort aimed to blend luxury, romance and value, sparking romance, and providing the customer more for less.

Issa would eventually be dubbed “The Father of Jamaican Tourism,” as he understood the value people would gain traveling to the island, as well as the benefits tourism would have on Jamaica’s economy. One of the biggest calling cards of any Couples Resort is that they embody and showcase the destination they are in. The resorts are luxurious, but they are also authentic to the culture of the country, allowing all travelers to experience the rich destinations at all times.
