Spa Extra – January Issue of On The Go Magazine

Extended interview with Karen Sprung, Corporate Spa and Fitness Director at Red Lane Spas®

Spas are becoming increasingly more common in the vacation experience and Red Lane Spas® are taking advantage of the popularity. They make every accommodation for the inexperienced spa goer so they are not overwhelmed and can enjoy the experience.

What is your favorite part of a spa experience?
My favorite part about a spa is that it decompresses the mind and allows your senses to recharge. You forget your sense of sound, sight, smell and touch sometimes, but in the spa environment they get enhanced. It is the environment that allows your senses to get affected.

What do you like to get worked on during your spa experience?
For me it is a half and half experience, a full body massage for me is okay, but where do people hold their stress? People hold their stress in two main areas as far as I’m concerned. Obviously in your neck and shoulders and that whole tension area, because we are all glued to computers and glued to our cell phones, so if I can have the first half of the experience to just work me in the ridiculously stressed areas, then flip me over make me nice and warm and cozy, and then work on the other part that never gets worked on and that’s your internal organs, and positively affect them through reflexology in your feet.
