Hawaiian Airlines

Hawaiian Airlines announced that Southern California travelers no longer have to head to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to start their island getaway. Starting June 1 (inaugural flight May 31), travelers can fly directly from Long Beach (LGB) to Honolulu (HLN) on Hawaiian Airlines.

Just in case you still want to travel to LAX, Hawaiian Airlines previously announced a new route from LAX to Kona (KOA) that will also take off this summer.

United Airlines

Adding to its already bustling San Francisco service, United Airlines announced that it will add nonstop flights from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) to Fa’a’ā International Airport in Pape’ete (PPT), the capital of Tahiti, starting Oct. 30, 2018 and running through March 28, 2019, subject to government approval. The new service will fly three times a week – Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday – and utilize the new Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.

Travel Weekly reports that United plans to roll out a premium economy cabin on international flights sometime this year. United Premium Plus will boast larger seats, free alcoholic beverages, an amenity kit, china dinnerware, and a Saks Fifth Avenue pillow and blanket.

Delta Air Lines

Delta Air Lines’ new daily nonstop service from Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) to its Salt Lake City hub (SLC) will take off on July 9. This new route will give Pittsburgh travelers access to Delta’s Salt Lake City hub routes with flights to more than 90 destinations, including Hawaiian, Mexican, and Canadian cities.

Delta will also be adding a new route from Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) to Charleston, S.C. and seasonal service to Aruba in 2018. The new daily round-trip service to Charleston International Airport (CHS) will take off on July 9, while Delta will offer new Saturday nonstop service to Queen Beatrix International Airport (AUA) in Aruba, starting on June 9 and flying through Aug. 18.

Delta is also increasing its existing service from Boston on June 8, adding morning and evening flights to Jacksonville (JAX), Kansas City (MCI), Nashville (BNA), and Pittsburgh (PIT)
